A Look Inside

When you look inside the components that make Rochester the great city that it is, you might notice and appreciate the differences in our growing community. We are fortunate to live in a culturally diverse population which brings varied cuisine tastes, political views, job opportunities, the list is endless.

However, even as we appreciate our differences, we do have at least one common thread; we all live in a neighborhood. Whether you define your neighborhood as a city quadrant, the street where you live, the name of a nearby park or any other description, RNeighbors is here to help you build safer, sustainable communities by strengthening your neighborhood relationships. We believe that a group of neighbors banding together has a more powerful impact than many citizens working individually.

Our organization kept busy in 2006 by nurturing partnerships, programs, and projects that directly benefit Rochester neighbors. We’ve recently updated our strategic plan and have sharpened our focus to provide useful resources to grow great neighborhoods.

Please take a look inside our 2006 annual report. See how RNeighbors—with the help of our partners and volunteers—is leading efforts to grow unique, secure, and sustainable neighborhoods through programs that include neighborhood walks, citizen tree planting, community journalism, traffic calming, and litter cleanup.

We hope to see you soon at an upcoming neighborhood association meeting, an RNeighborWoods tree planting, or on our online neighborhood at www.RNeighbors.org.
