Join us in welcoming Jay Walljasper to Rochester. A popular speaker, award-winning writer, veteran communications specialist and leading authority on community issues, Jay will share strategies and stories that inspire people to make a difference. Jay taps the power of storytelling, people’s own experiences, and best practices from around the world to spark creative transformation. Just a few of the topics he’ll share about include inclusiveness, walkability, hope, stewardship, safety, and great public spaces. All important aspects of a livable neighborhood and community.
Walljasper is the author of All That We Share: A Field Guide to the Commons (2011), The Great Neighborhood Book (2007) andVisionaries: People and Ideas to Change Your Life (2001) along with the e-book How to Design Our World for Happiness (2013). Besides consulting, writing and speaking, Jay is Urban Writer-in-Residence at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Senior Fellow at Project for Public Spaces, and editor of the online On The Commons magazine.
