Amazing Yard Makeover

Do you know someone who gives back to our community, is a value in their neighborhood, and does not have the resources to have a nice lawn? Examples could range from a single mother to an elderly couple, or a family of eight, with parents who work several jobs each.

Then we encourage you to nominate that special person’s yard into the running for the 2007 Amazing Yard Makeover! Nature’s Way Landscape and Nursery, RNeighbors, and KROC-AM are partnering to bring you this fun makeover contest, created to benefit a deserving community member.

The Grand Prize Winner will receive a new front yard landscaping job! On Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, Nature's Way Landscape and Nursery will complete the Amazing Makeover. The Winner’s lawn will get a brand new look and the owner will not even need to get their hands dirty.

Nominations for the Front Yard Makeover begin on June 1, 2007, and close on July 15, 2007. You can nominate online, by mail, or by dropping your nomination off at Nature’s Way.

The tough decision of the contest winner will be made by Mayor Ardell Brede; Rene Lafflam, Executive Director of RNeighbors; and local landscape architect, Andy Masterpole. The lucky Winner will be announced live at 8 am, Saturday, July 28, on the Nature's Way Garden Program on KROC-AM.

The deserving Yard Makeover Winner will receive a landscaping makeover done by the professionals at Nature's Way (valued at $2,500-$3,000). Two runners-up will receive gift certificates from Nature's Way (valued at $100). The nominator of the grand prize winner also wins by receiving a $50 Nature's Way gift certificate.

The Grand Prize winner must be willing to have their name (not their address) released to the media and to allow photographs and media coverage on the day of installation.

Think about the many good folks who live in your neighborhood and the city of Rochester. If you can think of any of them who deserve a lovely front yard landscaping job, then nominate them today!
