It's been too long...

I bet you all thought you’d never hear from me again. I bet most of you probably forgot who I was. In case you need a brief reminder, my name is Lacey, I’m the teen writer for this website, the one who’s supposed to be reporting school news but doesn’t do a very good of it. Yeah, you remember now?

I sense a few heads shaking… Oh well. I have years to achieve international fame…

Anyway… I apologize for my complete absence from here. Is it just me, or have I gone through an apology like this before? Ah well… I blame MySpace. No kidding.

So as far as school news goes… um… school is kind of out (except for summer school, but I’m not attending that, so I don’t have much to say about it), for those of you who haven’t noticed, and the summer break is NICE! We’re getting great weather for summer vacation, perfect for chilling in the morning, tanning in the afternoon, and taking long, inspiring walks on bike paths thinking about fixing poverty and gas prices and global warming in the evening.

The Pre-Spring Break Entry!

All right, sorry about my absences in writing… it hasn’t been a good month for me, we’ll put it that way.

Anyway, on Saturday, March 18, the JM Speech Team went up to Northfield to compete in our last invitational. We brought home second place as a team, and more than a few of us brought home ribbons and medals as usual. Michael Manansala had the most priceless look on his face when he won first place in Discussion…

On Monday, the Speech Team goes to Mankato East for Big Nine. Good luck to us in advance. Also this week, on Thursday, the team will be having the Parents Showcase, where the speakers may present their speeches in front of their parents at 7:00pm. Conferences are also that night, so nosy parents who want to see how awful their kids are should also come and meet with the teachers beforehand!

John Marshall news 2-24 - 2-25

On Friday of last week, John Marshall had their 2006 Talent Show after second hour. The auditorium was packed full of admiring fans and interested supporters. Tickets were fifty cents apiece – a small price to pay to go and watch some amazing high school talent. JM is home to dozens of really talented singers – better than most of the American Idol contestants this year, no kidding – as well as musicians, dancers, and just plain entertainers.

Psychology and history teacher, Andrew Johnsrud, started us off with his “Butterfly Dance”, a beautiful, inspiring, hilarious act complete with the best costume ever: stockings, tight shorts, and a painted black T-shirt. Next came Tom Aratingi both singing and playing the song “Piano Man” by Billy Joel and a whole bunch of other singers and dancers.
