Representative Tina Liebling is holding a Town Hall Meeting on the DM&E issue next Sunday, May 21, 3:30 pm at the Olmsted County Government Center Board Room.

The proposed $2.5 billion federally guaranteed loan will be discussed. Tina has invited Rochester federal representatives to tell us what they have been doing concerning the issue.

The Politics of Hunger: A Town Hall Meeting

In observance of National Hunger Awareness Day, Channel One is hosting "The Politics of Hunger: A Town Hall Meeting". Hunger is a persistent and pervasive problem in America and perhaps the "solvable" of all social and economic problems we face. The upcoming town hall meeting is an opportunity to discuss the issue of hunger and engage in a solution-oriented discussion. The meeting is free and open to the public. The meeting will be moderated and will include time for questions from the audience.

"Dear George: Letters to the President" is a compilation of Americans' open letters written to President George W. Bush. The letters come from all 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands as well as Americans overseas and cover a wide range of opinions on every major issue including the War in Iraq, the economy, gay marriage and 9/11. The theatrical event is intentionally non-partisan so many sides of the issues are addressed, reflecting the climate of the current national debate.

When the family of the victim repeatedly fails to show up on the appointed day, Mansour’s execution is postponed again and again.
