High School Information Night for Nonpublic Parents

On January 8 at 7:30 p.m., Rochester Public Schools will host a Nonpublic Parent Night in the Seminar Room at the Educational Services Center (ESC) at 334 16 Street SE (enter door #1). This meeting is for all parents of 8th graders currently attending nonpublic schools who are interested in attending one of the three public high schools for the 2008-09 school year.

Rochester Public Schools representatives will present general high school information, current high school graduation requirements, and tips on making the transition to high school easier. Parents will receive Course Registration Guides and other registration materials. Representatives from each public high school will be available to answer questions.

We need as many neighbors as possible at this meeting to listen to what the city is proposing, voice your opinions, and participate in the survey.

  • Amendment to General Development Plan #233 by WCP Investments, LLC know as Waterfront Business Park. The applicant is requesting to amend the approved GDP by removing the condition of approval requiring a limit to the number of trips/day allowed for the development. The property is located south of 48th Street SW, west of TH 63 and east of the Southern Woods Development.
  • Land Use Plan Amendment #R2007-005LUPA, Zoning District Amendment #R2007- 008ZC and General Development Plan #R00284GDP to be known as Valleyhigh Business Park, by Badger Development II LLC, Voll Family Trust and Badger Farms LP. The applicants are proposing to amend the Rochester Urban Service Area Land Use Plan to identify approximately 80 acres of land for “Industrial” use and to rezone the 80 acres to the M-2 (Industrial) zoning district. The General Development Plan proposes to develop the 80 acres of land located at the southwest corner of Valleyhigh Road NW and 50th Avenue NW, with Industrial land uses.

  • Vacation Petition R2008-002VAC by Daniel Penz. The applicant is proposing to vacate a 10 foot wide utility easement in the middle of Lot 2, Block 1, The 12 Seas Subdivision. The property is located along the north side of 28th Street SE and is the former location of the Days Inn.

  • Tabled Land Use Plan Amendment #04-05, Zoning District Amendment #04-14, and General Development Plan #243 by Willow Creek Commons LLC. The applicant is proposing to amend the Rochester Urban Service Area Land Use Plan to designate approximately 45.9 acres of land for “medium density residential” land uses, the property is currently designated for “Industrial” types of uses. The applicant is also proposing to re-zone the 45.9 acres of land from the M-1 (mixed commercial –industrial) district to the R-3 (medium density residential) district. The GDP indicates that the property will be developed with approximately 410 multi-family units. The property is located south and east of Willow Creek, north of 48th Street SW and west of TH 63.
  • Tabled Preliminary Plat #06-05 to be known as Bonnie Vista Estates and Variance #06-10 by Franklin P. Kottschade/Willow Creek Commons, LLC. The Plat proposes to subdivide approximately 55.20 acres into 175 lots for a residential development and 7 outlots. The development is proposed to be served by private roadways. The applicant is requesting a variance to the shoreland district provisions. The property is located along the south side of Willow Creek, south of 40th Street SW, east of 11th Avenue SW and west of TH 63.
