WHEREAS, Earth Day and Arbor Day inspire many organizations to host environmental events to help raise awareness of environmental issues during the month of April; and

WHEREAS, several environmental events have been planned in Rochester during the month of April; and

WHEREAS, the Rochester Public Library will screen the family film The Artic Tale on Wednesday, April 16th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Library Auditorium; and

  • Final Plat R2008-003PLAT by Maine Street Development of Rochester, LLC to be known as Maine Street Development Second. The plat proposes to subdivide Lot 1, Block 3 Maine Street Development into 2 lots for commercial development. The property is located south of Canal Place SE and west of Maine Avenue SE.
  • Final Plat R2008-004PLAT by Hadley Valley Partners of Rochester, LLC to be know as Hadley Creek Village Second. The plat is proposing to re-plat Outlot E, Hadley Creek Village consisting of 39 lots and 5 outlots on 9.71 acres for residential development. The property is located north of 48th St. NE, and west of Hadley Valley Rd. NE (CR 124) on property that is the Hawthorn Hills Golf Learning Center.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s collaborations began with this beautiful piece based on the play Green Grow the Lilacs by Lynn Riggs; Oklahoma first hit the stage in 1943 and has since entertained generation after generation of theatre goers. Audiences will be enthralled by well-known numbers such as “Oklahoma!”, “Oh What A Beautiful Morning,” and “People Will Say We’re In Love.” Join us as we bring life to this classic musical.

As part of the city-wide Litter Bit Better campaign, Meadow Park Neighbors will meet at the East parking lot of Ben Franklin School. Garbage bags will be provided and groups will head out to parks and roadsides in the area to collect garbage that accumulated over the winter. A team from Mayo High School will pick up the filled litter bags from around the neighborhood at the end of the day. It is suggested that you wear hiking boots, long sleeves, long pants, and work gloves.
