Audiences will be enthralled by well-known numbers such as “Oklahoma!”, “Oh What A Beautiful Morning,” and “People Will Say We’re In Love.” Join us as we bring life to this classic musical.

As part of the city-wide Litter Bit Better campaign, Meadow Park Neighbors will meet at the East parking lot of Ben Franklin School. Garbage bags will be provided and groups will head out to parks and roadsides in the area to collect garbage that accumulated over the winter. A team from Mayo High School will pick up the filled litter bags from around the neighborhood at the end of the day. It is suggested that you wear hiking boots, long sleeves, long pants, and work gloves.

The city Arbor Day festival has been moved to the Mayo Civic Center – North Hall due to the weather. Trees, food and music will still be provided starting at 11am and ending at 1pm.

As stated by Arborday.org, Arbor Day is a nationally-celebrated observance that encourages tree planting and care. Founded by J. Sterling Morton in Nebraska in 1872, National Arbor Day is celebrated each year on the last Friday in April.

Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

On Saturday, May 10, 2008, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will collect food donations to benefit those at greatest hunger risk in an effort to fight hunger during the NALC's 15th annual Stamp Out Hunger! food drive.

Last year letter carriers throughout the United States collected over 70 million pounds of food, bringing their impressive 15 year total to more than 800 million pounds!

Pangea Day Film Watch a worldwide event – May 10, 2008 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Rochester Public Library.

On Saturday, May 10th, Rochester Public Library will participate in a worldwide event by hosting a Pangea Day Film Watch. Join us from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. in Meeting Room. B (on 2nd floor) as we join thousands from many lands who will be observing what organizers are calling "this first global campfire, harnessing the power of new technologies to bring people together through film."
