United Way of Olmsted County was selected to host a mini summit to stimulate new and continued community action to connect and mobilize youth, families, schools, and the community around positive outcomes for middle school youth. The focus will be on middle school youth who need help to be successful in school.

This is a wonderful opportunity to bring together youth (per described above), schools (administrators, teachers, coaches, counselors, paraprofessionals), youth serving organizations, business, volunteers, and parents/guardians to promote best practices in youth development, including strategies to incorporate youth voice and engagement into the 2008-09 Middle School Youth Initiative and afterschool programming.
