The Department of Public Works Street Maintenance Division will be doing Chip Sealing work in various locations throughout the City of Rochester starting Tuesday, July 29th running through Friday, August 8th.

Residents are advised to please be aware and to heed the “No Parking” signs which may be posted in their neighborhoods.

This work is part of the on going street maintenance program, further questions or details concerning this work should be directed to the City’s Street Maintenance Dept., 287 -7888.

It's America's night out-banding as neighborhoods against crime!

People across the nation, including Rochester & Olmsted County, will join forces on Tuesday, August 5, 2008, to promote Police-community partnerships, crime and drug prevention awareness, safety and neighborhood unity.

Last year's National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 10,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, over 34 million people participated in National Night Out 2007. In Rochester, 16,556 participants in 172 events. Mark your calendar for this year’s event: August 5, 2008.

Plan your block party for National Night Out this coming Tuesday August 5th!

Here are simple steps to get your Block Party Setup:

1) Go to www.coptalklive.com and register your picnic
(this is not required, but encouraged)

2) Email wflock@hga.com to register your block party with Slatterly
Park Neighbors and to receive a pre-made invitation ready to print

3) Gather (4) Saw Horses (Collaborate with neighbors if you don't
have saw horses) place (2) saw horses on either end of the street
and tie something bright orange to each of the saw horses.
