Frequently Asked Questions
We're glad you're at our community focused website!
As the site grows we will be adding material frequently. Please contact us if you have any questions or ideas.
What is a blog?
Blogs are people communicating in a conversational matter about subjects important to them. The goal with RVoices is to create a forum for discussion to initiate conversations and ultimately connect members of the community.
Who can submit information on RVoices?
Anyone. Please see the sections below. It’s simple and we would love to have you join our online community.
How do I set up a Username to post comments?
Easy. Go to the home page and click on Login/Register. Then choose "Register new account." Once you're all signed in, you'll receive an automated response with directions how to proceed.
How do I format my text, add links, etc.?
Because this site is HTML based, unfortunately there are no easy buttons that can be clicked to change text size and color, like in other word processing programs. Simple is best. Check out our tip page for simple HTML tags that can used to format your text.
How do I set up a Blog or add to the event calendar?
Since RVoices is a community journalism site we require a short and informal Blogers training session. These short trainings are scheduled periodically. Please contact us, and we'll tell you more.
Why do I have to read and agree to the Terms of Use Agreement before I can Blog?
Terms of Use are provided to protect you as a user and all of us as an organization from those who choose to abuse the forum. It would be unfortunate to have to shut down the blog site and it’s benefits to many because of an abuser. Please read the Terms of Use Agreement and you will better understand the meaning of abuser.
What if I find something another Blogger has written offensive?
That is a sticky situation. When involved in a blogging site, you must realize there will be many differences of opinion on topics. The overall goal is to be respectful and conversational. Was the offensive content because it struck a personal note in you, or maybe the style it was given…then it would be best to disregard. Blogs are an individual’s thoughts and opinions, and we don’t all have thought patterns and opinions that match. Even though some opinions fire our emotions, everyone is entitled to their own.
If something you read on RVoices violates specific guidelines in the Terms of Use Agreement, then please report it to us for review.
