

- This week kid’s tasted tested cherry tomatoes.
- Tuesday, we spent the morning harvesting produce from their garden.
Vegetables included:- beets
- beans
- squash
- banana peppers
- turnips
- kale
- Swiss chard
- cabbage
- eggplant
- radishes
- and cucumbers.
- Thursday, kids prepared Corner Kick Pita Pocket Sandwiches and Salsa Fresca. They also sampled vegetable lasagna, Chinese cabbage salad and beets all made with produce from their garden!

Try putting (hiding) fruits and vegetables in your family’s everyday meals. The vegetable lasagna was a big hit and contained eggplant, squash, turnips, onions, red bell pepper and carrots.

Bring your family to Kid’s Day at the Rochester Downtown Farmer’s Market Saturday between 9am-noon.

- 1 lb ripe tomatoes
- ½ clove garlic
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 2 to 3 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper
- 2 ounces mozzarella cheese
- Handful fresh basil leaves (Feel free to take what you need from the garden)
