In this conference co-sponsored by the Diversity Council, Lewis shares his vision of a world of interracial, intercultural solidarity with practical guidance for making the dream a reality.
Victor Lewis is best known for his inspiring and catalytic leadership role in the award-winning race relations documentary, "The Color of Fear." He currently serves as Director of the Center for Diversity Leadership and Coordinator of Curriculum Development for Speak Out. He was previously a senior trainer with the Oakland Men's Project, a leader amongst pro-feminist men's organizations and one of the nation's premier violence-prevention training institutes. This FREE conference includes a lecture and reception on Friday evening at 7, plus a workshop on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
At the Friday session, Lewis will speak on “A Time for Transformation: From the Politics of Race to the Politics of Solidarity.”
On Saturday, Lewis will bring two interactive sessions titled “Healing the Heart of Justice: The Spirit of Diversity Leadership. The workshops will present an approach to diversity leadership that integrates personal growth and development (inner leadership) with organizational development and transformation skills (outer leadership).
Participants will leave with the elements necessary to create a diversity leadership "workout plan" or "shape-up plan" for themselves, to manage and accelerate their own ongoing growth and development as diversity leaders.
This training should particularly benefit multicultural educators, trainers, human resource personnel, and anyone seeking greater wisdom, practical information and inspiration.
To register, call the Diversity Council at 282-9951 or email info@diversitycouncil.org. Please specify whether you plan to attend Friday, Saturday, or both.
