YOU MAY BE USING PRODUCTS THAT COULD HELP A SCHOOL!

Many of our schools participate in programs that allow them to turn in box tops, labels or milk caps and receive money or school supplies. We don't suggest you buy these products just to help a school. However, if you're using the products, perhaps you'll consider sending your box tops, labels, milk caps to your local school.

Kemp's Give 'em Five: Collect the specially marked caps or proof-of-purchase symbols from Kemps products, bring them to school, and earn money for the things your school needs. Each stickered milk cap or proof-of-purchase symbol is worth 5¢, which schools can turn into computers, books, art supplies, etc. http://www.kemps.com/

About Adam Abdulle Academy

Somali students fill the classrooms at Adam Abdulle Academy, a public charter school that opened its doors to grades K-5 in September 2005. The Academy strives to meet the distinct needs of the newly arrived student population, children who emigrated or whose parents emigrated from east Africa.

The school has recently partnered with AmeriCorps READS Initiative, a program of Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation (SMIF), to create more opportunities for volunteer involvement and help meet students' literacy needs.

The Pre-Spring Break Entry!

All right, sorry about my absences in writing… it hasn’t been a good month for me, we’ll put it that way.

Anyway, on Saturday, March 18, the JM Speech Team went up to Northfield to compete in our last invitational. We brought home second place as a team, and more than a few of us brought home ribbons and medals as usual. Michael Manansala had the most priceless look on his face when he won first place in Discussion…

On Monday, the Speech Team goes to Mankato East for Big Nine. Good luck to us in advance. Also this week, on Thursday, the team will be having the Parents Showcase, where the speakers may present their speeches in front of their parents at 7:00pm. Conferences are also that night, so nosy parents who want to see how awful their kids are should also come and meet with the teachers beforehand!
