Spring 2025 RNeighborWoods Community Tree Planting

Planting trees along streets maximizes the benefits of the city-wide tree canopy. Since 2004, we have achieved remarkable milestones for Rochester’s urban forest. Since 2004, through the teamwork of RNeighborWoods, we have utilized 7,817 volunteers to plant 8,619 boulevard trees. This was possible through ninety-two events, including community tree plantings, citizen forester trainings, and neighborhood grant plantings. 2025 Natural Playscape Grant

For the third consecutive year, the RNeighborWoods team is thrilled to offer one lucky neighborhood a special outdoor park experience: a natural playscape! The winner for 2024 was the Historic Homestead neighborhood, where the logs have been enjoyed at Triangle Park. The Park and Recreation Forestry Department crafted Lincoln Log-style logs, which stack together to create a natural play area.
