RNeighbors COVID-19 Message
Your neighborhood can serve as a support team in this uncertain time of COVID-19.
- Get connected with neighborhood networks such as Facebook groups, email lists, and the Nextdoor website. These are excellent places to share community resources.
- Reach out, safely, to the most vulnerable, including those homebound or sick. Check in via phone, text, or a note on the door to ensure these neighbors have needed groceries and medical supplies. There are examples locally and nationally where people have left supplies at a door, rang the bell, and immediately left so there is no face-to-face contact. Whatever method you come up with, keep in mind the recommended 6 feet of personal space.
- Ask for help if needed. Utilize those neighborhood networks to seek out assistance. Rochester is a community of creative helpers. There are people who care.
Rochester neighborhoods share strong bonds and consistently help with things like lawn mowing, lending tools, gardening, and other activities.
Be creative. Brighten a day.
Please share your stories of neighbors supporting each other during this time.
