2009-10 Litter Bit Better Poster Contest Winners
Announcing the Grand Prize winner for the 2010 A Litter Bit Better! Poster Contest – Daphne Jebens and her “Pollution’s a fact so clean up your act” artwork!
For the third year, we challenged all fourth grade students in Rochester to draw a brightly colored picture that displays:
- Why it is important to not litter
- How you will make Rochester A Litter Bit Better!
There were 140 entries from classrooms across Rochester. With all of these fun and colorful entries it was a tough choice but our team of judges narrowed it down to one winner per school (who submitted entries) and then one Grand Prize winner.

The judging team felt that Daphne’s comic-like poster was whimsical and displayed how pollution not only impacts Rochester but also the world.
As the Grand Prize winner, Daphne will receive all of the items listed above plus her artwork published on a “I will not litter” pledge form, her photo with Mayor Brede, and a pizza party for her entire Mrs. Reid’s class at Sunset Terrace Elementary School.
