Healthy Rivers, Healthy Families, and Healthy Communities
We all drink water and many of us boat, fish, and swim in area lakes and rivers. But do you really know where your drinking water comes from? Do you know what you can do to make sure that we keep our rivers and lakes clean and healthy? Do you know three simple steps that anyone can take to help reduce or eliminate flooding in the region?
If you want to know the answers to these and other water questions, then we have a deal for you!
The Zumbro Watershed Partnership is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting “Healthy Rivers, Healthy Families, and Healthy Communities” through education programs and conservation projects in the Zumbro River Watershed.
Starting this Fall, we have three new adult water quality and conservation programs for groups just like yours. Each program is 20-30 minutes long with time afterward for questions. Programs are free to groups in the Zumbro Watershed (Rochester, Pine Island, Oronoco, Zumbrota, and other river communities):
- “Glaciers, Farming, and Floods: The Unlikely History (and future) of the Zumbro River”
- “Three Things Everyone Needs To Know About Rivers (but are afraid to ask)”
- “Water, Water Everywhere: What You Need To Know About Drinking Water”
If you would like to bring a ZWP speaker to your group event, contact ZWP Education Coordinator Kevin Strauss at 507-993-3411 or at “education@zumbrowatershed.org“.
