Quarry Hill Nature Center announces its 24th Annual Fall Festival onSeptember 14 and 15, 2013. Enjoy food, fun, live music and all the best of Quarry Hill from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm each day. The festival is admission free.

Fall Festival takes place on the grounds of Quarry Hill Park and Nature Center. Indoor & outdoor activities include nature games, nature crafts, cave tours, canoeing, rock climbing and pumpkin decorating. New this year is Tree Climbing offered by Maier Tree and Lawn. Admission to the festival and music is free. Food and activity tickets are available for purchase on site $1/ticket, $20/25 tickets. Food and activities range from 1-4 tickets.

This year’s festival features music by songwriter and author, Douglas Wood. Performing his EarthSongs, EarthStories program featuring a Native American legend of how mosquitos came to be to songs about frogs and fleas and the signs of rain, this program takes audience members young and old on a nature journey through song, stories and laughter. Also performing are Rochester favorites The Dovetailers, the husband and wife team Brandon and Heather Sampson and Americana favorite The Whole Hog Musical Revue.

Quarry Hill’s Fall Festival is an annual tradition for Rochester and surrounding community drawing thousands of visitors who enjoy all the park and center have to offer. All proceeds from the event benefit the Friends of Quarry Hill Nature Center and are used to help keep the nature center admission free year-round and provide the many educational programs we provide for youth, families and adults throughout the year.
