2015 Neighborhood Project Grant Winners
We had many strong grant submissions for the first year of our Neighborhood Project Grants. These grants reimburse up to $1,000 in costs for neighborhoods to complete projects that enhance a neighborhood’s livability and involvement, benefit the entire neighborhood and promote a strong sense of community. Each of the applications had to ensure that the neighbors would put in the volunteer effort to bring the project to completion by October 30, 2015. And the winners are…
- 19th Ave SW Neighborhood: Little Free Library
- Cimarron Neighborhood: Raised handicapped accessible garden bed with surrounding paver walkway
- Eastside Neighborhood: Fourth Street Community Garden with components of a “Community Board” and weekly speakers.
- Eastside Neighborhood:“The Jardin Project” Garden Benches
- Homestead Addition Neighborhood: Pocket Park Improvement
- Homestead Trails Neighborhood: Community Garden Enhancement
- Kutzky Park Neighborhood: Community Garden
- Kutzky Park Neighborhood: Historic Neighborhood Signage
- Northwest Neighbors: Community Garden with Raised Beds
- Slatterly Park Neighborhood: Community Gardens Project
Special thanks to community partners in this effort that have allowed RNeighbors to offer these grant opportunities.
- The City of Rochester
- Olmsted County Public Health Services
- Rochester’s Park and Recreation Department
Best of luck to each of the grant winners! We are excited to see the progress and the results of each neighborhood’s hard work that we will highlight on our website.
