Bob Nowicki named featured carver for annual Rochester Woodcarvers show
Congratulations to Bob for his award! He has made many carving and creative contributions to RNeighbors over the years and is an asset to the RNeighbors board.
Local carver to be recognized for contribution and achievement by Rochester Woodcarvers club Rochester, MN- March 20, 2013: Bob Nowicki will be recognized as the featured carver at the Rochester Woodcarvers 37th annual woodcarving show to be held March 23-24, 2013 at the 4H Building on the Olmsted County Fairgrounds in Rochester, MN. Hours for the show will be 10:00 am to 4:00 pm each day with free admission. Bob has been carving for many years and developed the Department 56 “Barefoot Santa” figure – a bright and charming Santa who offers his shoes as a gentle reminder to share the unselfish giving spirit of Christmas. In addition, Bob has created a large collection of “Father Christmas” carvings representing local customs from many countries of the world. Demonstrating his love for the holidays and support for the community, Bob has contributed many carvings and ideas for the annual Hiawatha Homes “Festival of Trees” woodcarver tree. Beyond Christmas carvings, Bob also creates stylized, caricature, and artistic carvings in a variety of woods. Bob, a past president of the Rochester Woodcarvers club, continues to be the “go-to” guy and helps keep the club operating efficiently and effectively.
The upcoming annual show will also offer local and regional wood carvers displaying, demonstrating, and selling
hand-made carvings with a wide variety of styles and techniques. In addition, tools and wood will be available for sale
during the show.
