Rochester’s urban forest needs your help to plant some trees in the Fox Trails NW Rochester neighborhood. On Oct. 15 we’ll be planting 250 trees on the bouvlards of Tundra Lane, Heritage Place, Heartland Ave, and Ashland Lane NW. Tree types to be planted include Sugar and Red Maples, Ohio Buckeye, Service berry, Catalpa, Hackberry, Hawthorn, Gingko, Honey Locust , Kentucky Coffee, Ironwood, Pin and Bur Oak, American Linden and Hybrid elm. Creative Crosswalks – Prototyping Festival

Thursday, September 15, 9 am-noon RNeighbors was one of 16 prototyping proposals chosen to participate in the upcoming Placemaking Prototyping Festival. We were awarded a grant to paint “Creative Crosswalks” across 1st Avenue downtown to help bring art to a barren space and emphasize safe crosswalk space for the one of the most heavily used pedestrian areas in downtown Rochester. Photo: The Valhalla Park Condominium Neighbors came out in force on Saturday, May 7, to add some green leafy trees to their boulevards that had a large percentage of Ash trees. Over forty volunteers were efficient in getting the 25 trees planted in an hour and 15 minutes! Trees make good neighbors.
