A Litter Bit Better! 2014 Final Results

2014 was the 8th annual Help Make Rochester A Litter Bit Better! event. Each year, thousands of volunteers collect litter from across Rochester. Together in the past 8 years, these individuals, service groups, businesses, scout troops, faith-based organizations, neighborhood associations, and families have worked together to remove over 95 tons of litter from the community. A Litter Bit Better 2014

Pick it up on APRIL 19-26, 2014! During the week of April 19-26, 2014, volunteers from Rochester neighborhoods, businesses, groups, and individuals will once again, be joining together to pick up the litter in our community. Last year, over 3,189 volunteers in 228 groups picked up litter at 245 collection sites that covered 5,185 acres of land in Rochester. Photo: On a lovely fall Saturday afternoon, September 21, 2013, the RNeighborWoods team helped the Historic SW neighborhood plant 50 trees Neighborhood Tree Grant. Trees make good neighbors. Since its creation in 2004, RNeighborWoods has organized 4,651 volunteers to plant 5,420 trees on Rochester boulevards. These trees provide multiple ecological and other public benefits including reducing Rochester’s carbon footprint.
