RNeighbors has come a long way from 1996 when a Mayor’s Advisory Council on Neighborhoods was assembled to determine how to provide resources to neighbors. RColorful Corners 2013 Update

In the summer of 2013, RColorful Corners repainted 4 street murals with the help of over 175 volunteers that dedicated 525 hours of time! These events brightened the streets of Rochester and brought together members of the different neighborhoods and partnering organizations. Fall 2013 Community Tree Planting

Neighbors rolled up their sleeves this spring and planted trees. Thanks to over 500 volunteers, 260 trees found homes in the Eastside neighborhood boulevards. The city’s boulevard tree spaces are currently over half empty and each year 500-900 boulevard trees are removed to disease or damage. We need your help to add more community trees to this neighborhood. Photo: On a very drippy Saturday afternoon, October 13, 2012, the RNeighborWoods team helped the Viking Village neighborhood plant 25 trees for their Neighborhood Tree Grant. Trees make good neighbors. Since its creation in 2004, RNeighborWoods has organized 4,651 volunteers to plant 5,420 trees on Rochester boulevards. A Litter Bit Better! 2013 Final Results

The final results are in! Over 3,189 volunteers in 228 groups picked up litter at 245 collection sites that covered 5,185 acres of land in Rochester. These efforts resulted in 24,364 pounds of litter being removed from the environment in 2013’s A Litter Bit Better! event. 2013 was the 7th annual Help Make Rochester A Litter Bit Better! event.
