Trees make good neighbors.  On October 10, 2009, Northwest neighbor Ron Stephan with the help of his daughters rallied his neighborhood together to plant 20 Ginkgo trees on a frosty Saturday morning. Volunteers were anxious to get planting and warm up. Citizen forester Jesse Hoekstra demonstrated proper planting techniques and quickly put the neighbors to work. On Saturday, April 25, over 150 neighbors, youth, and other community volunteers worked together to plant 100 trees in the Kutkzy Park neighborhood.
