This year, we’re rallying around an inspiring theme: “Nothing can dim the light which shines from within,” a stirring quote by Maya Angelou. This theme will ignite the creativity of involved artists, and we know it will lead to extraordinary creations.
Chalk the Block is not just an event. It’s a city-wide celebration. To make it truly inclusive, we’re expanding beyond a single location and bringing the joy of chalk art to neighborhoods across the city. To make this experience even more engaging, a scavenger hunt will feature clues enabling the public to explore the murals.
This is an opportunity for local artists to showcase their talent. RNeighbors will provide paid opportunities for 13 local artists to craft chalk murals at various locations, such as parks and gathering spaces. Additional information and registration are at this link.
Neighborhoods, we invite you to complete the questionnaire and let us know if you’d like a vibrant chalk mural at a public location on September 28. Visit the Chalk the Block Mural Request form, and we’ll contact you to discuss the details. Deadline of 9.1.24.
