Olmsted County Website To Launch in January
Starting in January, Olmsted County’s website will showcase a new eye-appealing look and feel. The navigation of the website has been totally restructured in an effort to give users multiple ways of finding information.
On the homepage, there are five fly out tab menus on the top, a County Department fly out on the left, an A-Z Guide located in the top right corner and left hand side, a County Meeting calendar, and a Search box in the top right corner. The site offers a language translation option for Spanish, Arabic, French, and Vietnamese. There is even the ability to resize the text if you prefer it smaller or larger.
A core planning team has been working on the new website since January of 2010. The goal of this team was to increase the ease of use for customers and give the website an updated look. The team also wanted to take advantage of the social networking tools many of our customers use frequently like Facebook and Twitter.
The website address will remain http://www.co.olmsted.mn.us/ but please remember that if you have pages bookmarked from our current website, you will need to redo these links since the new website pages will have new addresses.
As always, Olmsted County would like to hear from our users if you are unable to locate the information you are searching for or if you have questions on the site; please select the ‘Site Feedback’ option located in the bottom right corner of each page on the website. This will generate an email to Olmsted County and a response will be sent to you.
