RColorful Corners 2011 Update

In the summer of 2011, RColorful Corners repainted 5 street murals with the help of over 290 volunteers that dedicated 939 hours of time! These events brightened the streets of Rochester and brought together members of the different neighborhoods. The street paint used for these projects was donated by generous local businesses including Hitachi and Sherman Williams.

RColorful Corners is a grassroots project that works to bring neighbors together to create colorful street murals.  We transform public space into neighborhood assets, while creating stronger relationships between neighbors.

This project is a way for neighbors to gather once a year and work side-by-side in a fun activity, creating a common gathering space. Organized by RNeighbors, this project was spearheaded by neighborhood associations, and works with community organizations, schools and neighbors to fulfill its vision.  More history on RColorful Corners can be found at our web site and lots of colorful photos of the painting events can be found on the RNeighbors facebook page.
