Volunteers Needed – Rochester Pond and Garden Tour

Enjoy a self-guided tour of some of the most beautiful and sustainable landscapes around the Rochester, MN area. The tour will also host educational activities to teach and inspire neighbors, neighborhoods, and businesses to incorporate “green” practices into their landscapes. More information on the tour.

We need your help. There will be two 4-hr shifts.  Two people per shift assigned to one site.  You and a friend can sign up for the time of your choice.  We will make every effort to accommodate you and to best fit our needs. 

Duties include:

  • Greet the public and thank them for attending the tour. 
  • NO night time tour this year. 
  • Check to see if people are wearing their wristbands and if they are not, offer to sell one to them. 
  • Wristbands will be provided for sale.  Cost is $10 per person or $25 family.  Family consists of parents and children living in the same household.  Small children five and under do not require a wristband.  Accept cash or checks payable to Rochester Pond and Garden Tour.   
  • Watch over the donation box.  Accept cash or checks payable to RNeighbors.
  • One person at a time can walk around the property to answer basic questions about the tour and to observe that people are staying in areas designated for the tour. 
  • There are no public restrooms. 
  • Tee shirts and maps will be provided.  Maps will indicate the sites on the tour, addresses, and educational session schedule.  The public can download maps from our website after July 20th, but we will have some extra copies on hand. 
  • Contact information will be provided if you have questions during the tour and need to speak to an organizer.

THANK YOU!  Your time is very much appreciated in helping us run the tour.  A reception will be held on Friday, July 22nd, from 7-9pm at RCTC to hand out materials, meet homeowners, and receive instructions.  Watch for your e-mail invitation!
